What are the Allowed and Not Allowed Baggage on 2Go Travel?

Last updated by Philippine Boats on December 16, 2017

Passengers may be wondering about what Superferry allows and prohibits when it comes to the baggage being brought on board their boats. This post tries to answer questions about the type of baggage allowed and not allowed by 2Go Travel.

2go baggage and cargo allowed not allowed

Superferry allows passengers to bring in baggage during trips. In fact, all 2GO passengers can enjoy 75 kilos of free baggage allowance.

In general, all baggage are allowed except for the materials listed below. However, please know that there are some baggage and cargo that need special permit like bringing in of livestock and plants. Secure these permits first from the Bureau of Quarantine or Bureau of Animals and Plants (as appropriate), before your sailing date.

*We are still checking how much is the 2go excess baggage rate. Once we find out the answer, we will update this post.

Be aware that there are things and materials not allowed as baggage. What are these stuff that you can’t bring as baggage when you want to take a trip with 2Go Travel vessels? These are the following:

  • Compressed Gases
  • Corrosives
  • Flammable Liquids and Solids
  • Radioactive Materials
  • Oxygen Tanks
  • LPG
  • Guns and Ammunition
  • Explosives
  • Firecrackers
  • Oxidizing Materials
This prohibition is being implemented for the safety of all passengers, crew members, and the vessel itself. So please be understanding of these cargo and baggage rules imposed by Superferry and 2Go.

More Details on Special Baggage

Empty LPG tanks are not allowed to be brought in by passengers.

If you are bringing minimal number of sharp and bladed tools because you need it for work, like say for construction work, you can still bring it onboard but you have to deposit it for safekeeping to the vessel security. If you are bringing unusual number of work-related gear and tools, you may not be allowed to be board with them.

If you are bringing livestocks say manok for cockfighting, you are required to get permit from the Bureau of Animals. You may call them at (02) 244 2745.

If you are bringing huge appliances there are also corresponding charge when you sail. For 2Go trips from Manila the fee per appliance (provided the appliance is not bigger than 50 kilos) is around P200 to 300, depending on type and weight. Kindly call 2GO hotline to inquire about your particular case at (02) 528 7000.

For police and military officers who will get onboard the vessel and will bring a gun, presentation of valid mission order is required.

If you have any question about the baggage and things that you plan to bring with you when you sail with 2GO Superferry and you are not sure if it is allowed or not, kindly call the customer service hotline and tell the csr about your concern. This way you will get immediate answer too. Hotline is (02) 528 7000. You may also visit a 2GO ticketing outlet to ask if there is one near you.

You can also read this post about 2Go Travel excess baggage fees for electronics like tv, refrigerator, surfing board etc. Info on bringing live animals like pets and fighting cock can also be read on that separate post. Be informed!

    Hi.
    Good day.
I am planning to travel again by boat after 20 yrs of not doing so and I want it with 2go. I have a dilemma though. I am a sickly person. I need to have my oxygen tank as this is required by the doctor to have it with me at all times while travelling. How can I get a permit? What are the permits? Thank you jn advance. God bless.
